Michael Jacobs keen for Wolverhampton Wanderers duo to stay at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Michael Jacobs reveals that he hopes the club retain the services of Richard Stearman and David Edwards.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Michael Jacobs has admitted that he is keen for Richard Stearman and David Edwards to sign new deals with the Black Country side.

Both players are out of contract at Molineux, and although talks are likely to begin in the near future, Jacobs is hopeful that both players will sign on the dotted line sooner rather than later.

The 22-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "'Stears' was one of the players of the season and was unlucky not to be named in the PFA team of the year.

"He knows all about the level and it's a big priority for the club to keep hold of him. He's a good lad in the dressing room too, and for me, getting him to stay is a massive priority.

"Dave is an excellent player. He's one of those that goes under the radar but you look at the runs he makes, how hard he works and his goals ratio and I don't think that I've seen anyone like that or that effective."

Wolves attained promotion to the Championship this season after winning the League One title.
