Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan charged by Football Association

The FA charges Wolves chairman Steve Morgan after he confronted referee Mike Jones following the team's defeat to Bournemouth.

The Football Association has charged Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan following the team's defeat to Bournemouth.

Morgan confronted referee Mike Jones in the wake of Saturday's 2-1 loss at Molineux after the official had sent off two Wolves players.

The 62-year-old issued an apology to Jones on Monday, claiming that he was "extremely frustrated" with the performance of the referee.

"It is alleged that his language and/or behaviour after the end of the fixture was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper," said the FA.

Morgan has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
