Dean Saunders hopes that Wolverhampton Wanderers' draw with Watford can help the club turn its season around.

Dean Saunders has said that he hopes Wolverhampton Wanderers' 1-1 draw with Watford will be a turning point for the side's season.

A late strike from Bakary Sako rescued a point for the hosts earlier this evening, after Almen Abdi put Watford ahead.

The Wolves manager told Sky Sports News: "I'm pleased we got a point. It's St David's Day today so I had my daffodil on and I've got my Welsh socks on and I thought they might bring us a bit of luck.

"This could be a turning point for us. We scored in injury time and missed a lot of chances. When they scored from a free kick, which I didn't think was a free kick, you're up against it because they're a good team. You're chasing the game.

"At the end of the day, this was a good point. The players have showed some character, they've dug in, they've kept going until the final whistle and I thought we deserved to win."

The draw leaves the Molineux side a point from safety in the Championship table.
