Wolves started the second half strongly and they nearly scored an equaliser on 55 minutes when Kevin Doyle forced a low save from Jonathan Bond.

Ikechi Anya pulled his shot wide for Watford soon after, while Carl Ikeme showed good reflexes in goal for Wolves when he pushed Cristian Battocchio's dipping drive over the crossbar with 67 minutes on the clock.

The home side had a great chance to get level in the 76th minute as Palace goalkeeper Bond denied Bjorn Sigurdarson twice in quick succession from close range.

However, they finally found the net in the 92nd minute when Sako pounced in the area following a long throw.

The draw has moved Wolves to within a point of safety in the table, while Watford remain in second place.
