Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett unhappy with red cards

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett says that the club will appeal both red cards from the 2-1 Championship defeat to Bournemouth.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has confirmed that the club will appeal both of the red cards that they received in the defeat to Bournemouth.

Wolves were on course to end their four-game losing streak against the Cherries, but had Rajiv van la Parra sent off before conceding twice late on to lose their fifth game in a row.

Matt Doherty was also given his marching orders in added time and Jackett was unhappy with both dismissals.

"The first sending off was the turning point. It changed the dynamics of a very good game. We had given a good account of ourselves for the first hour and deserved our lead," Jackett told BBC Sport.

"I spoke to all the officials and the information I got was that Van La Parra was deemed to have led with his elbow which was why he was red-carded. I felt at the time that it was head to head, as I still do, having seen it, that it was accidental.

"The second sending-off was equally hard. Matt won the ball with his first leg and his second leg was passive. You are allowed to appeal and, on both fronts, we will appeal."

Defeat for Wolves saw them drop into the bottom half of the Championship table.
