Kenny Jackett: 'Key decisions went against us'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett believes that two key decisions went against his side during their 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett believes that his side were unfortunate to succumb to a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

After the teams went in level at the break, Bournemouth regained the lead early in the second half when Wolves defender Richard Stearman committed a foul close to the line of the penalty area.

The incident was deemed to have taken place inside the box, with Yann Kermorgant netting the resulting spot kick, but Jackett has questioned the decision, insisting that the referee had made "a big call".

The 53-year-old told Wolves Player: "I felt that the penalty was just outside of the box. I felt as though it was a big call from the referee, he needs to be sure that it was inside the area. We can see on the replay that it's questionable.

"We are disappointed with that because it was a key moment. At the other end from Sako's free kick, Elphick has clearly handled the ball so those two decisions have gone against us.

"We are disappointed with that because in tight games, you need to be right with those types of decisions. You need to be 100% sure."

The defeat for Wolves leaves them in eighth place in the Championship table, four points adrift of a playoff spot.
