A hamstring injury rules Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards out of action until January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to make do without the services of David Edwards for the next few weeks.

The Welsh midfielder was stretchered off during Saturday's 4-1 win over Bristol City at Ashton Gate and scans have since shown that he has torn his hamstring.

As a result, manager Stale Solbakken does not expect to have the 26-year-old available for selection until January at the earliest.

"It's a torn hamstring, so December has gone for him," said Solbakken. "I didn't really see how he did it, but it's a bad one.

"He just went straight down in the corner. That may be down to him playing too many games lately, but he hasn't really had a choice."

Edwards joined Wolves from Luton Town in 2008.
