Western Sydney Wanderers outclass hapless Perth Glory

The Western Sydney Wanderers confirm their place in the A-League's end-of-season playoffs by thrashing Perth Glory 3-0 at Parramatta Stadium.

The Western Sydney Wanderers have booked their place in the A-League's end-of-season playoffs by thrashing Perth Glory at Parramatta Stadium.

Tony Popovic's side dominated from the start and took the lead on 42 minutes when the Perth defence backed off and allowed Jerome Polenz to advance and fire home from 18 yards.

More timidness from Glory's backline resulted in a second goal just after the hour mark. This time, Mark Bridge was the scorer with the aid of a significant deflection.

Tomi Juric added gloss to the result 12 minutes from full time with an emphatic finish from close range.

The Wanderers return to second place in the A-League table, while Perth remain bottom.
