Mauro Zarate 'on verge' of sealing move to West Ham United

Mauro Zarate is on the verge of agreeing a move to West Ham United, according to the Argentine's brother and agent Rolando.

Mauro Zarate's brother and agent Rolando has revealed that the Argentine striker is close to completing a move to West Ham United.

The 27-year-old, who experienced a stint at Birmingham City in 2008, is likely to have played for Velez Sarsfield for the last time in Tuesday's victory over San Lorenzo, in which Zarate scored twice.

"We have almost everything sorted out with West Ham," Rolando told Velez y su mundo. "They asked him not to play against San Lorenzo but he wanted to play."

Zarate finished the season as top scorer in the Argentine league with 18 goals in 28 starts.
