Slaven Bilic: 'West Ham United must stay grounded'

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic insists that the team should "stay on the ground" despite their strong start to the season.

Slaven Bilic has insisted that West Ham United should "stay on the ground" despite their bright start to the Premier League season.

The Hammers have secured away wins over Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City from their first six matches of the campaign, leaving them third in the table.

Ahead of tomorrow's match against Norwich City, the former Croatia international told reporters: "Everything goes really quickly in football and in life. I'm not denying that, there is no point in not enjoying the good spell. I said to my staff the other day 'we've done good why shouldn't we enjoy it a little bit because when the bad days come we won't enjoy it?'

"There's no reasons we could not be confident or proud. But the one condition is they stay on the ground and be even more motivated. There's no point to deny them enjoyment and be grim.

"The praise gets through to you, it gets to me and the staff and the players of course which is the most important thing, that we get that get that feedback that so far we are doing a good job."

Bilic took charge at the club over the summer following Sam Allardyce's departure at the end of the 2014-15 season.
