Sam Allardyce frustrated with referee after West Ham United loss

Sam Allardyce rues a missed handball decision as West Ham United fall to defeat against Everton in the Premier League.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has criticised the performance of referee Kevin Friend after his side lost 2-1 at home to Everton on Saturday.

The Hammers thought that they should have been awarded a penalty in the first half when Seamus Coleman appeared to handle the ball from an Aaron Cresswell cross.

Allardyce told BBC Sport: "I'd have sooner had four bookings today and won 2-1, rather than have one booking and lose 2-1, believe you me.

"It was a blatant handball. It's a big problem for me when they [the referees] miss such easy decisions. I'm frustrated with the team and the result."

West Ham have now fallen behind Everton in the Premier League table.
