Sam Allardyce vows to play experienced side

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce reveals that he will field an experienced side for Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has revealed that he is likely to field an experienced side for Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers make the short trip to White Hart Lane with a place in the last four of the competition at stake.

Despite playing a number of youngsters earlier in the tournament, Allardyce insists that he will not take any chances against Spurs in midweek.

"Now, we're in a position where we have to see what we've got available for Wednesday night but there won't be any young players in there that's for sure," he told the club's official website.

"But there will be players who haven't played as much in the first team."

West Ham are currently one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League table following Saturday's goalless draw at home to Sunderland.
