Team News: Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor start for Tottenham Hotspur against West Ham

Tim Sherwood plays two strikers in Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe for Tottenham Hotspur's first game since the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas against West Ham United.

Tim Sherwood has changed Tottenham Hotspur's formation and gone for a 4-4-2 lineup in tonight's Capital One Cup quarter-final against West Ham United.

Six changes have been made by Sherwood from Sunday's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool as Spurs play their first game since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas.

Vlad Chiriches and Danny Rose return from injury while up front Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe lead the line.

Visitors West Ham, meanwhile, make eight changes to their starting lineup from the Premier League draw with Sunderland at the weekend, with George McCartney, Joe Cole and Matt Jarvis the only ones to keep their place.

Spurs: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe
Subs: Friedel, Fredericks, Fryers, Chadli, Eriksen, Holtby, Soldado

West Ham: Adrian; Rat, O'Brien, Collins, McCartney; Diarra, Taylor, Collison; J Cole, C.Cole, Jarvis
Subs: Jaaskelainen, Noble, Diame, Demel, Morrison, Maiga, Chambers
