Half-Time Report: Yohan Cabaye, Loic Remy put Newcastle United ahead

Newcastle United hold a 2-1 lead over West Ham United at half time in the Premier League.

Newcastle United are currently beating West Ham United 2-1 at half time in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy.

The Magpies should have gone ahead in the eighth minute of the game when Remy was found by Cabaye, but the striker fired his shot wide from the centre of the box.

Matthew Jarvis looked to work the flanks for the hosts and he found Matthew Taylor with a great ball into the box, but the midfielder somehow managed to send his headed effort wide of the post from only a few yards out.

Cabaye made the Hammers pay a few minutes later when he picked up a pass from Yoan Gouffran in the centre of the box, before turning the ball home with a right-footed finish.

Moussa Sissoko almost made it two as the visitors piled on the pressure, however, Adrian did well to get down low to his bottom corner and turn the ball away from goal.

Remy doubled the visitors' lead in the 33rd minute when he converted a right-footed shot from close range, having been picked out by Sissoko with a pinpoint cross.

However, West Ham grabbed a vital goal back on the stroke of half time as Mike Williamson put the ball into his own net to leave the score at 2-1 going into the break.
