Werder Bremen came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 3-1 in the Bundesliga to move up to 11th on Saturday afternoon.
The home side started very brightly and had a chance inside the first minute, but Eljero Elia fired just wide having been found by a Franco di Santo nod-down.
Despite their strong start, Werder were soon behind. Kevin Volland, playing in the central striking role, was played in by Roberto Firmino to finish neatly from inside the box.
The lead lasted only 15 minutes, however, as Werder were level on 18. Philipp Bargfrede shot from around 25 yards and the deflection on the ball took it past Jens Grahl in the away goal.
Both teams started to have half-chances and although Sejad Salihovic came close to restoring Hoffenheim's lead, the game entered quite an edgy phase.
Just as they did in the first half Werder came out strongly after the break, with Di Santo stinging the palms of Grahl 10 minutes in, but the goalkeeper made a decent save.
They were ahead finally with 12 minutes to play after a strong second half, as Santiago Garcia met an Aaron Hunt corner to head them in front.
As Hoffenheim pressed for the equaliser, Werder made sure of the points in injury time.
