Report: Watford make club-record Diego Perotti bid

Watford are reportedly willing to make a club-record bid to sign Argentina international Diego Perotti from Genoa.

Newly-promoted Premier League side Watford have reportedly made a club-record bid in an attempt to sign Diego Perotti from Genoa.

The Argentina international is believed to be valued at around £9m by the Italian club and Watford are ready to smash their transfer record, according to Sky Sports News.

However, West Ham United are also keen on signing the 26-year-old and, according to the Daily Mail, Upton Park would be a preferred destination for the midfielder.

The most Watford have ever parted with for a player is £3.25m to sign Nathan Ellington from West Bromwich Albion in 2007.
