San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 Vancouver Whitecaps

San Jose Earthquakes came from behind to beat Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 at Buck Shaw Stadium and go top of the Western Conference.

After dominating the first half, in which John Thorrington rattled the crossbar, Whitecaps took a deserved lead four minutes after the break.

Eric Hassli found Sebastien Le Toux in space on the left side of the penalty area and the 28-year-old French forward slotted a low right-footed shot beyond Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch.

The hosts rallied and turned the game around with two goals in four minutes.

First, Chris Wondolowski slammed in from an acute angle on 68 minutes, before Alan Gordon powered home a header following Ramiro Corrales's cross.

Wondolowski doubled his tally and sealed the win 12 minutes from time as he swept in a Tressor Moreno free kick from six yards.
