Morning all! It's exactly 12 hours until the January transfer window shuts and between now and then we're set for an exciting Friday of surprise deals, false rumours and much, more more!
We'll be primarily focussing on English clubs and especially the Premier League here on SM. We'll also keep you up to date on any big moves across Europe so let's get straight to it...
So, Berbatov, after being linked with a move back to Tottenham Hotspur, is now expected to join Monaco. Suits the Monte Carlo lifestyle doesn't he?
FEATURE! We've just put a piece online detailing five possible moves that could happen today.
Check it out here.
What of Arsenal? Surely they have to make a transfer today if they are to keep alive their title hopes. They surrendered top spot in the Premier League to Manchester City in midweek after drawing with Southampton. They are just a point behind City but now dealing with a number of injuries to key players, as well as the three-game suspension for Mathieu Flamini. They have a hellish February coming up with league fixtures against Liverpool and Manchester United, an FA Cup tie against Liverpool and the daunting task of facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Germany's Julian Draxler but it looks as if a move for the Schalke man will not go through. The latest name to be linked with the North London club is Kim Kallstrom, who would join on loan.
A couple of big tweets from the news desk at the Daily Mail: "Reports in Ukraine say Liverpool's move for Konoplyanka could falter as the player is 'unsure' about making such a move."
"BREAKING: Newcastle have had an £8million offer for Papiss Cisse this morning from a mystery club in the Middle East."
Yevhen Konoplyanka's move to England could be one of the biggest deals of the day. The Ukrainian has been linked with both Liverpool and Spurs, but it's the former who are believed to be leading the race for his signature. Remember this goal he scored against England at Wembley?
Speaking of Spurs, it looks like they might be saying goodbye to Lewis Holtby. Here's a tweet from Guardian journalist Daniel Taylor: "Lewis Holtby's move from Spurs to Fulham is a loan, initially. Told it's completed and should be announced soon."
Another player Fulham may be capturing today is Swansea left-back Neil Taylor.
Click here for the latest on the Welshman, who has fallen out of favour in the last year at the Liberty Stadium after suffering a serious injury last season.
Sky Sports News have just shown footage of Holtby training with Fulham. Deal must have been completed!
NEWS! Two big Premier League exits look to be almost done as Juventus announce that Pablo Osvaldo is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move from Southampton. Also, Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri tweets that Berbatov to Monaco is done.
Will Thomas Ince join Crystal Palace as expected or will he surprise and move elsewhere? It's almost certain that he will be leaving Blackpool today and a move to the Premier League looks most likely after he was linked with Monaco.
Staying with the Championship, it's been a busy morning for Blackpool. They may be about to lose Thomas Ince but they've brought in three players today, signing Tony McMahon and Faris Haroun on loan while Andy Keogh joined on loan.
DONE DEAL! AC Milan have confirmed the arrival of Adel Taarabt on loan.
Mirror journalist John Cross tweets: "Kim Kallstrom has arrived at Arsenal training ground to complete talks, medical and loan deal. Could poss play Sunday."
Latest rumours saying that Kevin Doyle has arrived at Queens Park Rangers ahead of a move from Wolverhampton Wanderers. QPR are expected to make a number of moves today, especially in the striker department after their lead frontman Charlie Austin was ruled out injured for a long period.
DONE DEAL! And there we go! QPR announce the arrival of Aaron Hughes from Fulham:
As you can see from that Vine, it's a loan move until the end of the season for Hughes, who is likely provide cover for the injured Danny Simpson at right-back.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp on the arrival of veteran defender Hughes: "@AaronHughes18's a very experienced player and with the injuries we’ve suffered lately, he’s a fantastic addition."
Sky Sports News journalist Rob Dorsett tweets: "[Stoke] have improved terms of their offer for [Sunderland's] Lee Cattermole - not more money, just more up front."
What about the Premier League's usual big spenders, Chelsea and Manchester City? Both clubs have such strong squads and City, especially, have been linked with surprisingly few players this window. Chelsea are expected to complete a move for Saint-Etienne defender Kurt Zouma and then loan him straight back to the French club. A potential successor to John Terry?
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester City are looking into a deadline day deal for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala. City are also being strongly linked with his teammate Fernando.
The latest Kallstrom reports are that the Swede has arrived in London for a medical ahead of a loan move from Spartak Moscow to Arsenal. Would provide immediate cover for the suspended Mathieu Flamini if it goes through.
Looks like there won't be a new Frenchman on Tyneside: "Newcastle's bid for Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has stalled and there is no sign that the clubs are prepared to restart talks. At this stage, no other arrivals are expected at St James' Park before tonight's deadline," says BBC Sport's Ben Smith.
We know that Holtby is already training with Fulham and news is just coming out that Spurs received a £1m fee as part of the loan deal. Should be a top signing for the Cottagers, who are also expected to tie up a move for Olympiacos frontman Kostas Mitroglou. Would clearly be a replacement for the outgoing Berbatov.
Will Manchester United be making a surprise move today? The Red Devils broke their transfer record to sign Juan Mata in the biggest move of the window so far but it's all quiet at Old Trafford at the moment.
More on Holtby's move to Fulham, with his agent telling PA journalist Paul Hirst: "A return to the Bundesliga has been shattered due to circumstances we could't control."
Crystal Palace will NOT be signing Ivan Ramis from Wigan Athletic today, according to Sky Sports News. The Spanish defender has reportedly failed a medical.
BBC Radio 5Live's Pat Murphy says: "Sweden international striker Markus Rosenberg is set to end a miserable 18 months at West Brom by signing for Malmo on a free transfer. Rosenberg, who had 18 months left on his contract, hasn't scored a goal for West Brom in 33 appearances."
Further backup in attack for QPR, with Redknapp saying "He’s a young player from Brazil, who our scouts have watched and like."
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says that there will not be an exit for Barcelona's young winger Cristian Tello this month. Both Arsenal and Liverpool had been linked with a move for the Spaniard. "Barcelona have got no intention of getting rid of Tello on loan or otherwise. He stays at the club," says Balague.
David Moyes says that there will be NO MANCHESTER UNITED SIGNINGS today. Speaking in a news conference, the Scot said: "You can stand your cameras down at the gate today. "I don't think they will be required. We've done our business and we'll get on with it."
This is a good signing for struggling Championship club Barnsley:
It's a permanent move for Frimpong, who joins until the end of the season. He tells the club website: ""Everything happened really quickly yesterday.
"[Manager Danny Wilson] called me yesterday and wanted me to come play and help the team push out the relegation zone. Hopefully I can help the team achieve that this season.
"I wouldn't say I'm fit yet, but the only way to do so is to play games. The more I play, the better I'll get."
DONE DEAL! Defender Kurt Zouma has signed for Chelsea on a five-and-a-half-year deal from St Etienne, but will be loaned straight back to the French club.
According to Sky Sports News, Crystal Palace have had a bid accepted by Wolves for goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.
DONE DEAL! Sunderland's Modibo Diakite joins Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season. Doesn't look too happy in this picture!
As an Ipswich Town fan, I breath a big sigh of relief at this news from East Anglian Daily Times journalist Stuart Watson: "David McGoldrick has been linked with Swansea and Palace, but I'm told he took part in #itfc training this morning."
North-East news from Sky Sports News: "We understand Middlesbrough have lodged a bid for Feyenoord forward Lex Immers this morning – but we understand that deal looks unlikely to happen at this stage. They are still though working on a deal for West Brom’s Graham Dorrans."
To Humberside, where Steve Bruce is believed to want rid of Danny Graham. Brucey has added Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic in the striking department this month and Graham is expected to drop down to the Championship, with Boro and Forest the clubs believed to be interested in him.
DONE DEAL! Everton sign 17-year-old goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek from Sparta Prague. Stanek stands at 6'4" despite his young age and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Goodison Park.
Wolves completed the signing of Leon Clarke from Coventry a couple of days ago and it looks like he will replace this man at Molineux:
DONE DEALS! Two more moves are confirmed as Blackburn Rovers sign Craig Conway for an undisclosed fee from Cardiff City, while Liverpool send Michael Ngoo on loan to Walsall.
BBC Sport's David Ornstein tweets: "Spoken to Lille - they've received enquiries from PL clubs for Kalou but say absolutely no way he's leaving this window."
Away from transfer news briefly, check out these plans from Real Madrid for a new Bernabeu stadium:
Los Blancos announce the plans just two weeks after Barca
revealed similar ambitions for their Camp Nou!
Celtic manager Neil Lennon on the impending arrival of Leigh Griffiths: "He's here, the deal's agreed & subject to a medical, he'll hopefully be a Celtic player by the time window closes.
"He knows the environment, he's a prolific goalscorer and I think that we can make him better. He'll be a good asset to the club.
"He seems like a very focused player & is delighted to be here. He represents good value for money & he will score goals for us."
More non-transfer news as Sky Sports News report that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is out injured for a month.
More departures at Old Trafford as striker Sam Byrne & midfielder Charni Ekangamene head to Carlisle United on a half-season loan deal.
LATEST KONOPLYANKA: The freshest reports on the Ukranian suggests that he is nearing a move to Liverpool and will sign a five-and-a-half year deal at Anfield.
Manuel Pellegrini is remaining very coy on the possible arrival of the Porto duo. Manchester Evening News journo Rob Dawson reports from his press conference: "There is no news. Tomorrow you will know everything."
DONE DEAL! Bournemouth complete the signing of French striker Yann Kermorgant from Charlton Athletic:
DONE DEAL! Staying in the Championship, Nottingham Forest have just completed the signing of David Vaughan until the end of the season. The 30-year-old had a spell at the City Ground on loan earlier this season.
According to Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castles, Newcastle are interested in signing Benfica's Filip Djuricic. They will reportedly need to part with a large sum if they are to sign the 22-year-old Serbian.
More from new Cardiff defender Fabio, who is separated from his twin brother Rafael at United. He tells the club website: "I know this is the right move for me. I spoke a lot to the Manager about coming in and I know that I can help us move up the division."
Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood says in his press conference today that there is "zero percent chance" of any new signings.
THOMAS INCE LATEST: According to Sky Sports News, the England Under-21's move to Palace has "hit a hitch". The deal may not be completely off, but this news could spark increased interest from other Premier League clubs.
Ipswich Town announce that Ryan Tunnicliffe has been recalled from his loan by parent club Manchester United. The midfielder is expected to complete a move to Fulham on what is a busy, busy day at Craven Cottage.
BBC Radio Nottingham report that Danny Haynes has left Notts County to join Edinburgh club Hibernian on loan for the rest of the season.
DONE DEAL! Crystal Palace announce the signing of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The fee is believed to be around £3m and he has signed a three-and-a-half year contract.
That seems like a big price for Hennessey, who has struggled to get minutes this season. He was loaned out to Yeovil during the first half of the season and then couldn't get in the squad behind Carl Ikeme at Wolves.
DONE DEAL! More good news for Palace as Jason Puncheon completes a permanent switch from Southampton:
Puncheon signs a contract at Selhurst Park until the end of the 2018-19 season.
DONE DEAL! Brighton have signed striker David Rodriguez after he cancelled his contract with La Liga club Celta Vigo yesterday. Seagulls manager Oscar Garcia told the club website: "He's shown throughout his career he is capable of scoring goals. He can play in all attacking positions.
"The challenge for him now is to push for a place in the team and prove between now and the end of the season he is worth a longer-term deal with the club."
According to Stuart Watson of the
East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Ryan Tunnicliffe is on his way to Fulham. A mention of Mick gives me an excuse for this GIF:
Not transfer news as such, but Watford have announced that defender Fitz Hall has signed a contract with the Hornets until the end of the season.
BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury reports: "Shinji Kagawa will not be making a deadline day move away from Manchester United, according to his agent Thomas Kroth."
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have made an approach for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.
Nice light-hearted change from AFC Wimbledon:
RUMOUR! Murmurings coming out of Arsenal that they have made a substantial bid of around £40m for a player. Apparently it isn't Draxler!
Sky Sports News reports that Bolton Wanderers are close to signing Millwall's Liam Trotter on loan with a view to a permanent move.
Looks like Swansea could be adding a player from Scotland:
Sticking with the Swans, they are reportedly interested in Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. The England Under-21 international has been in great form for the Royals this season.
THOMAS INCE LATEST: Palace technical coach David Kemp says: "Tom Ince is close but I'm not in those negotiations so I don't know where that's at."
Here's the latest from West Brom, with manager Pepe Mel saying: "It's a long day. At the moment? No news. In 2-3 hours it's possible we will have a new player here."
It really is a very busy day at Palace. They are expected to complete a move for Celtic left-sider Joe Ledley. Speaking of the Welshman, Celtic boss Neil Lennon said: "A bid from Crystal Palace for Joe Ledley has been accepted & it's now down to Joe & his representatives."
This is Rio Ferdinand's first tweet for five hours: "Wow.....great news....... #TransferDeadlineDay". Was Moyes lying to us when he said there would be no United arrivals today.
CLOSE! West Brom manager Pepe Mel confirms that the club are trying to sign Thievy Bifouma from Espanyol.
Looks like Rio was taking us all for a ride:
RUMOUR! Wigan Athletic are reportedly in talks to sign Leicester City's Martyn Waghorn on loan.
Alice McKeegan of the Manchester Evening News reports that a private jet is due to land in the North-West from Porto shortly. Likely to be the Porto duo of Fernando and/or Eliaquim Magala, who have been linked with Man City.
Crawley Town look to outdo Wimbledon in the comedy stakes today:
Righty ho folks, that's my stint done. I'm now handing over to Danielle Joynson for the next few hours with plenty still to be done on Deadline Day. Enjoy!
Good afternoon all! I'll be taking you through to 10pm tonight when numerous deals should be going through the final stages. Will your club be added to their squad before the deadline? They have eight hours to do so!
KONOPLYANKA LATEST! Liverpool fans, this one's for you! Manager Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about the possible arrival of Yevhen Konoplyanka. The Ukraine international is said to have attracted interest from Totteham Hotspur as well.
According to The Telegraph, Rodgers said in today's press conference: "There’s no update. There’s an interest in the player, but we’ll see how it evolves. It’s a little complicated. The staff over in Ukraine have done really well to put us in the position we’re in, but time is against us. I’m happy with the players I’ve got if we don’t bring anyone in. But let’s hope we can do something. Konoplyanka is the only signing there could be."
Rodgers's words also appear to dispel any truth in the rumours that they are interested in Manchester City full-back Micah Richards. The Daily Mail reported today that City had rejected a loan approach from the Reds.
THOMAS INCE LATEST! The saga involving Ince has taken another twist! According to Sky Sports News, Stoke City have come back into the fold with an offer to buy, which Blackpool are more than happy to accept. However, Ince is believed to only be interested in a loan move until the end of the season. Watch this space!
Some interesting news concerning Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur has emerged. The South Wales Evening Post are claiming that the Welsh outfit are in talks with Spurs over signing Nacer Chadli on loan.
The Daily Mail reports that Manchester City's deal to sign Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando from Porto is OFF due to the Portuguese outfit's 'unreasonable valuation'.
Queens Park Rangers have been busy today, but midfielder Joey Barton wants more...
Sky Sports News reported this morning that Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann was at Crystal Palace's training ground to discuss a potential move. It appears that he's been there for a while! Still no official word from either club.
DONE DEAL! It's a big one! Fulham have confirmed the signing of Olympiacos striker Kostas Mitroglou. Remember, reports emerged claiming that West Ham were trying to hijack Fulham's move for the Greek international, but they have failed. The 25-year-old has moved to Craven Cottage for a reported £12m.
KALLSTROM LATEST! Sky Sports News are reporting that Spartak Moscow have confirmed that the club are close to letting Kim Kallstrom leave the club for Arsenal.
Jonathan Northcroft of The Times claims that a "number of clubs" in England and abroad are interested in signing Jack Rodwell on loan from Manchester City. It is believed that if a move is to materialise, Rodwell is likely to remain in the Premier League.
Here's a story that could potentially go down to the wire. According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are keen on Genk's Jelle Vossen. Reports have claimed that manager Paul Lambert is keen for Christian Benteke to link back up with Vossen following their time together at Genk. It is believed that a move could go through if Genk are able to find a last-minute replacement.
UPDATE! Norwich City have reportedly received a fourth bid for wantaway midfielder Wes Hoolahan. Aston Villa are said to have had three bids rejected by the Canaries, but Sky Sports News are reporting that this fresh bid is from another Premier League club, which remains unnamed. Earlier today, reports claimed that Hoolahan would stay put at Carrow Road, but it will be interesting to see how things play out after this latest development.
Charlton Athletic have confirmed the signing of a reported West Ham United target...
Hmm an interesting reaction from Emmanuel Frimpong, who has left Arsenal for Barnsley on a
permanent deal. The
Daily Mail have claimed that the midfielder tweeted: "How am I gonna draw girls now." The notorious social-network user swiftly deleted the tweet.
UPDATE! Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet has been speaking about Stoke City's determination to sign midfielder Lee Cattermole. The Uruguayan was late to his weekly press conference as he has been dealing with the situation that is "ongoing".
The Northern Echo quotes Poyet as saying: "From the beginning of the morning, we started to deal with the Lee Cattermole situation. I am late because in the last few hours we have got to a really impressive point. The offer and the situation is not easy. Nothing is finalised. It is still ongoing."
DONE DEAL! Wigan Athletic announced the loan capture of 24-year-old Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn until the end of the season.
DONE DEALS! Manchester United have completed some business today, but it's not involving players coming into Old Trafford, it's regarding a pair going the other way. Tom Thorpe and Tyler Blackett have joined Birmingham City on loans until the end of the season.
DONE DEAL! Harry Redknapp's transfer form has not wavered. Right on cue, the Queens Park Rangers boss has spoken about some deals while hanging out his car window. The R's have signed Kevin Doyle from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan until the end of the season.
"I like Kevin," BBC Sport quotes Redknapp as saying. "He's a good pro and a good lad who needs to get his career up and running again.
"He was a good player at Reading and my sides have played against him many times. This is a great opportunity for him. I like him a lot - he's a good player and a good person."
Let's go back to Liverpool for a moment. As we all know, they're trying to sign Dnipro's Konoplyanka, but manager Brendan Rodgers stated earlier that the situation is "complicated". Sky Sports News are reporting that the 'complications' relate to the structure of the deal and how the reported £15m fee will be paid. The clock is ticking though!
Earlier this afternoon, Fulham
secured a big signing in the form of Konstantinos Mitroglou. After finalising a deal that will keep him at Craven Cottage until 2018, the Greek international told the club's official website: “I’m very happy that I’m here in the Premier League, and especially with Fulham which is a major club in the league.
“I’m here because I want to fulfil the club’s targets and I want to help the club achieve their goals. I was really flattered that they wanted me so badly and I’m really happy to be here."
“I’m really happy that I will work with Rene Meulensteen. I know that he has a lot of experience in football. He explained to me how he works and I am really looking forward to working with him."
UPDATE! As reported earlier, Fulham are said to have made a second bid for Swansea City defender Neil Taylor. Swans manager Michael Laudrup has spoken about the situation, telling
BBC Wales: "We will only sell him if we can get a replacement."
It could be a race against the clock, especially because Taylor is in Swansea with his wife, who is due to give birth to their second child.
DONE DEAL! Swansea City have announced the capture of Falkirk midfielder Jay Fulton on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
UPDATE! According to Sky Sports News, the 'unnamed' club that have made a bid for Norwich City's Wes Hoolahan is West Bromwich Albion. It has been reported that the midfielder has not travelled with his teammates to Wales for tomorrow's match against Cardiff City. This one seems far from over!
CLOSE! There seems to have been a development in Lee Cattermole's proposed move to Stoke City from Sunderland. Sky Sports News have claimed that the two parties are close to agreeing a fee that could rise to £5m. Potters boss Mark Hughes seems determined to push this one through.
As I mentioned earlier, Kevin Doyle has completed a loan switch to QPR on loan until the end of the season. Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has been speaking about the move. He said: “I think this move will be good for Kevin and good for Queens Park Rangers. After being at the club for such a long time I think this will stimulate Kevin and it is the right move for all parties. Hopefully he can have a crack at getting to the Premier League with Queens Park Rangers.”
Staying with Wolves, chief executive Jez Moxey has explained why the club opted to sell goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to Crystal Palace. Moxey told the club's official website: "With Wayne this season, it was a similar situation to other players in the past such as Joleon Lescott whereby if we received an acceptable offer from a Premier League club we were not going to stand in his way.
"It was a case of once again proving his fitness, as he did with Yeovil, and then when the bid came in, reaching agreement with Crystal Palace.
"We are fortunate to have some excellent goalkeepers here at Wolves, with Carl Ikeme and Aaron McCarey as the senior men and some more good young goalkeepers in behind."
Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has wished Emmanuel 'Frimmy' Frimpong good luck at Barnsley following the midfielder's permanent move.
He wrote on Instagram: "Frimmy all the best for your future. It is good to know you. It was a great time bro! Good luck in Barnsley, you'll smash it there!! Love you 👊 #bro #love #dench #aha #gihhhhh #frimmy #poldi"
Accrington Stanley considering their deadline day options...
Sky Sports News are very happy that the January transfer spending has reached £126,000,000. I think the word "kerching!" was even used... I'm sure that fee will rise by the close of the window. Just over six hours left to go!
RUMOUR! Could Nacer Chadli be on his way to Liverpool? Sky Sports News are reporting that the Reds are considering a move for the Tottenham Hostpur player as they try to finalise a deal for Dnipro's Yevhen Konoplyanka. Earlier today, it was claimed that Swansea are keen on Chadli, but the player is not interested in moving to the Liberty Stadium. Watch this space!
THOMAS INCE LATEST! Will this one ever end? It is believed that the England Under-21 international has completely ruled out a move to Stoke, despite them offering him a permanent move. Sky Sports News report that Ince will either go to Crystal Palace on loan or run down his contract at Blackpool.
It's an understatement to say that Cardiff City have been busy in this transfer window! However, it appears that the Welsh outfit aren't done yet. According to Sky Sports News, the Bluebirds have had a bid in the region of £4m rejected by Leeds United for striker Ross McCormack. West Ham United were linked with the player earlier this month.
RUMOUR! It appears that Arsenal are still working hard to bring in some new faces before tonight's 11pm deadline. The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella. The Gunners have already been linked to Mirko Vucinic, but could his teammate be on the way to the Emirates?
Reports have emerged from Italy claiming that Lazio are targeting Chelsea's Gael Kakuta to replace attacking midfielder Hernanes.
UPDATE! It appears that Sky Sports News have changed their mind. Liverpool are apparently not interested in Tottenham's Nacer Chadli. Widespread reports have indicated that if the Reds fail to acquire the signature of Yevhen Konoplyanka, there will be no other possible players coming through the door.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has expressed some 'bromance' love for Emmanuel Frimpong, who has left the Emirates for Barnsley on a permanent deal.
Simon Peach of the Press Association believes that Julio Cesar is likely to remain a Queens Park Rangers player for the second half of the season. The Brazilian wants to leave Loftus Road, and Gremio are in the mix, but a deal is far away from being completed.
It looks as though Fulham could be the busiest Premier League club of the day! The Press Association have claimed that the Cottagers are keen to secure the signatures of Johnny Heitinga from Everton, and Manchester United youngsters Larnell Cole and Ryan Tunnicliffe before the day is out.
UPDATE! Lee Cattermole's move to Stoke City appears to be edging closer. Sky Sports News have claimed that the Potters have agreed a fee with Sunderland, thought to be in the region of £5m, which means that the next step is a medical at the club's training ground. Keep your eyes peeled Stoke fans!
DONE DEAL! West Ham United have confirmed the loan capture of Pablo Armero from Napoli until the end of the season.
UPDATE! It seems that Southampton are getting closer to being rid of controversial forward Pablo Osvaldo. Sky Sports News have revealed that Osvaldo has completed a medical ahead of a loan move to Juventus. It is believed that a down payment of £300,000 has been made, with the option of a permanent move in the summer.
KONOPLYANKA LATEST! According to The Mirror, Liverpool feel 'nervous' about their chances of completing a deal to sign Dnipro's Yevhen Konoplyanka. The club's managing director Ian Ayre has been in Ukraine since Wednesday, but it has been claimed that no agreement has been reached regarding a fee. If that's the case, then Liverpool are a long way from finalising a move. They lost out on Mohamed Salah to Chelsea last week - could this be failure number two?
UPDATE! As mentioned earlier, Fulham reportedly lodged a second bid for Swansea City defender Neil Taylor. This story has been quiet since this morning, but BBC Sport have claimed that there are no talks going on between the two clubs. It appears that any possible move is unlikely to happen. Besides, Taylor is in Swansea with his wife, who is due to give birth to their second child - I'm guessing that has taken priority!
So, Arsenal are believed to be closing in on the loan capture of Kim Kallstrom, but Sky Sports News have now revealed that the Gunners have been knocked back in their attempt to sign Salomon Kalou from Lille on loan. Apparently, a temporary agreement is a no-go for the French outfit.
Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has some words for the fans, with five hours left to go in the window...
As revealed earlier, Manchester City will reportedly miss out on signing Porto duo Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando before tonight's 11pm deadline. However, hope is not lost completely as Sky Sports News have claimed that City are likely to reignite their interest in the pair at the end of the season.
Some interesting reports are emerging from London. According to
The Metro, Arsenal have rejected the chance to sign Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov for a fee of around £1m. Despite previous reports that manager Arsene Wenger was keen on a loan deal, it is believed that the Frenchman is not convinced that the Bulgarian is still capable of performing at the highest level.
Widespread reports have claimed that Berbatov is expected to leave the Premier League completely in favour of a loan switch to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.
DONE DEAL! Southampton have confirmed that forward Pablo Osvaldo has completed a loan move to Juventus. The deal will run until May 31, but it includes an option to buy for the Serie A club. The 28-year-old joined the Saints just last summer, but following a training ground bust-up with Jose Fonte, it seems that it is only a matter of time before the striker leaves St Mary's for good.
THOMAS INCE LATEST! Yes, this one is still going... Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody has admitted that their loan move for the Blackpool winger is "in the balance". Ince is believed to be keen on moving to Selhurst Park until the end of the season, but Blackpool were open to accepting a permanent offer from Stoke City.
"It's still in the balance," Moody told the London Evening Standard. "Ultimately we can't control what Blackpool want to do - chairman Karl Oyston is the man who has the whole deal in his hands. If we get to 10 o'clock and nothing is decided then he will be left with a choice of not keeping Tom or letting him come to us for a good chunk of money."
UPDATE! According to Sky Sports News, Kim Kallstrom has passed a medical ahead of a proposed loan move to Arsenal from Spartak Moscow.
Another line from Arsenal to bring you - Sky have reported that the arrival of Miroslav Klose from Lazio is unlikely because as it stands, the Italian outfit are unwilling to secure a deal.
Enough to put you off, Liverpool fans!?
While you recover from that Konoplyanka/Hodgson tweet, BBC Sport have claimed that Liverpool only have their sights set on the Ukrainian winger. If they fail to land his signature, they will not pursue any other targets.
UPDATE! Seems like there's been a bit of a turnaround! Sky Sports News reported earlier that Sunderland and Stoke City have agreed a fee for midfielder Lee Cattermole. However, they are now claiming that the 25-year-old will stay at the Stadium of Light until the summer, at least.
Let's go back to North London and Premier League title challengers Arsenal. According to The Mirror, the Gunners have been in contact with Fiorentina over the last 24 hours regarding the availability of Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado. It is believed that Udinese, who part-own Cuadrado, have decided against agreeing a deal.
Let's leave British shores for a moment and look at the transfer activity in Spain. Real Madrid have told BBC Sport that they do not expect any players to leave the Bernabeu or arrive at the club before the close of the window this evening. Forward Alvaro Morata has previously been linked with a loan move to Arsenal, but it appears that the Spaniard is staying put.
UPDATE! It was revealed earlier today that Leeds United had rejected a bid from Cardiff City for striker Ross McCormack. It is understood that the player himself will not be pushing for a move away from Elland Road as he told Sky Sports News that he is "happy" at Leeds.
Could Craig Gardner leave Sunderland before the 11pm deadline? According to BBC Sport, West Bromwich Albion are believed to be trying to sign the midfielder. The 27-year-old signed for the Black Cats from Birmingham City in 2011.
Ah, Danny Graham. The Sunderland striker is no stranger to transfers. According to the Evening Gazette, Championship side Middlesbrough are on the verge of completing a loan deal before tonight's deadline. Reports have claimed that Boro are waiting on Hull City to cancel their current loan agreement with the Black Cats.
DONE DEAL! Manchester United fans, this one involves your club! Don't get too excited though - youngster Tom Lawrence has sealed a loan move to Yeovil Town until the end of the season.
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website: “I am very pleased to be able to bring Tom into our squad from Manchester United. He’s a player that can play either side wide or as a regular number 10."
There's some news coming out of Crystal Palace, but it's not regarding any new arrivals. The Premier League outfit have confirmed that Darcy Blake has left the club by mutual consent.
A statement on the club's official website said: "Crystal Palace would like to place on record our thanks to Darcy for his service to the football club and we wish him well in his future career."
Interestingly, it has been reported by BBC Sport that Arsenal's move for Schalke 04's Julian Draxler was thwarted when Arsene Wenger thought that Schalke's valuation was too high. Apparently, Arsenal's board were happy to meet the price this month.
According to BBC Sport, Queens Park Rangers are still busy working on trying to get some business in before the 11pm deadline. It is believed that they are trying to secure a deal for Manchester United youngster Will Keane. However, they have reportedly been knocked back in their attempt to sign West Ham United's Mohamed Diame.
Earlier today, Sunderland acquired the signature of Liam Bridcutt from Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-and-a-half-year deal. Head coach Gus Poyet has been speaking about the move to the club's official website.
He said: “The idea with Liam is many, many things. One, how important it is to have a British player. It’s important that we got him at that age and at the price we got him for, and he knows the way we want to play and understands the game. When you put it all together, it’s a great acquisition.”
It appears that Southampton's business is done for the day. They've said so themselves...
According to Sky Sports News, Marvin Emnes is on the verge of returning to Swansea City on loan from Middlesbrough. The striker had a one-month stint at the Liberty Stadium in 2010.
Cardiff City are clearly not prepared to call an end to their deadline day, if reports by Sky Sports News are to be believed. The Bluebirds are said to have contacted Reading regarding striker Adam le Fondre. With under three and a half hours to go, will a deal be reached?
DONE DEAL! Arsenal have their deadline day signing! While this arrival may not be in the same category as Mesut Ozil, who signed on the final day of the summer window, the Gunners have secured the signature of Kim Kallstrom from Spartak Moscow on a loan deal.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking about Kallstrom's arrival. The Frenchman has told the club's official website: “Kim Kallstrom is a hugely-experienced player. He is a midfielder with proven quality at both club and international level. We welcome Kim to Arsenal.”
Kallstrom, 31, has also had his say on the move: “Arsenal is an amazing club with a lot of great players and a coach who has done really well here for a long time. I am so pleased to come here to learn as much as possible. I’m here to do my best for Arsenal and to help out the team, so we can achieve good results for the last part of the season.”
DONE DEAL! Another transfer has gone through, and it's from Scotland. Celtic have confirmed that the club have signed Leigh Griffiths from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a four-year deal.
Griffiths has told Celtic's official website: "I want to bring goals – that´s what I am all about and what I love doing. I did it last season for Hibs and have done it for Wolves and now it´s my time to shine in the Hoops and hopefully I can do it.
"I am just thankful to get my chance here and hopefully I can prove that I am a good signing and start scoring goals for fun. My message to the fans is that I´m looking forward to playing and scoring goals and winning things here."

RUMOUR! Some interesting news is coming out of Spain. Reports have emerged on Twitter claiming that radio station Cadena Ser has stated that Manchester United have loaned striker Javier Hernandez to Valencia.
Could there be a change in Ross McCormack's future? The Leeds United captain has told
Sky Sports News that he may have reconsidered his position at the club if he had known earlier in the day that Leeds had sacked manager Brian McDermott. Following the news, McCormack said: "I can't see anything happening. I'm happy at Leeds but I'm gutted about the events tonight."
The striker is believed to have been the subject of a rejected bid from Premier League side Cardiff City today. Well, there's still under three hours to go!
Manchester City fans, have you been wondering what might happen with defender Joleon Lescott? Well, the player himself has stated that he will remain at the Etihad Stadium for the rest of the season.
Press Association journalist Simon Peach has claimed that Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann is still at the Crystal Palace training ground ahead of a proposed move. He's been there since this morning. What more could they be talking about!?
Some exciting news for Crystal Palace fans! Apparently you will be adding three new players before tonight's 11pm deadline. Scott Dann? Thomas Ince?
Co-chairman Steve Parish has told BBC Radio Five Live: "We're very close to signing three other players - we should have those done before the window closes. The medicals are all done and we're just finalising paperwork.
"We're very pleased with today, and I think the supporters will be when the final ones are announced. It's been a long, difficult day and we've got the four that we wanted, as long as we get them over the line."
Pablo Osvaldo has been speaking about his loan move from Southampton to Juventus. The Argentine-born striker has told the club's official website: "I'm very happy. It's all been a bit of a whirlwind and I still can't quite believe it but I'm happy. It was pleasing when I first heard of Juventus's interest in me.
"When everything was completed last night I sat down and I couldn't believe it. As I said before, it's been a pretty hectic three or four days but I'm happy."
I think he's happy... The loan deal runs until the end of the season, but Juventus have the option to buy in the summer.
UPDATE! Fulham are reportedly still working on a deal to sign Johnny Heitinga from Everton. According to BBC Sport, as it stands, the deal could be hinging on personal terms as the defender is currently earning around £65,000 per week.
There's some more news on Cardiff City! I think it's clear that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hunting for a striker before the 11pm deadline. The Welsh outfit are said to have expressed an interest in Ross McCormack and Adam le Fondre today. However, it has been reported by the Daily Mail that Newcastle United have offered the club Papiss Cisse. It is believed that a deal could struggle to be finalised by the deadline.
UPDATE! According to Sky Sports News, up to six clubs have contacted Leeds United regarding captain Ross McCormack after it emerged that manager Brian McDermott has been sacked. Cardiff City and West Ham United have been linked with the forward. Who else have thrown their name into the hat?
What's happening at Liverpool then? It seems that the Reds have been locked in talks with Dnipro regarding the potential signing of winger Yevhen Konoplyanka. However, there has been no word about any developments over the last few hours. The clock is ticking down!
Just as a say that, some news has come through regarding Konoplyanka! According to The Mirror, Dnipro's owner is standing firm on his position of not wanting to sell the winger. The club do not need the funds, so a sale is not necessary for the Ukrainian club.
THOMAS INCE LATEST! Time is running out, but the Blackpool Gazette has reported that Ince is close to sealing a loan move to Crystal Palace, with Stephen Dobbie moving the other way to Bloomfield Road. Dobbie is no stranger to the Championship side - he has spent three loan stints at the club during his career.

Today we looked at Barry Bannan but I don't think any deal was possible."
KONOPLYANKA LATEST! So, we have just over one hour and a half until all deals need to be done and Liverpool are yet to secure the signature of Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro. However, according to BBC Sport, the winger has undergone a medical in Russia and the Reds are hopeful of sealing a transfer before the deadline.
DEAL OFF! Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has confirmed that the club will not be signing Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole following conflicting reports surrounding the situation.
Coates told BBC Radio Five Live: "The Lee Cattermole deal is dead. We thought that was going to happen and it hasn't - we're not quite sure why. We thought there was a deal to be done, but now there isn't, you need to ask Sunderland about that."
According to BBC Sport, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that three separate clubs have lodged bids for Lee Tomlin today. The club want to keep him, but the 25-year-old is said to be keen on leaving.
DONE DEAL! Chelsea have confirmed that midfielder Gael Kakuta has moved to Lazio on loan until the end of the season. The Frenchman has made 16 appearances for the Blues since moving to the club in 2007.

As revealed earlier, Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov has moved to Monaco on loan until the end of the season. Here's the first photo of the Bulgarian in his new get-up...
RUMOUR! I don't think many people predicted this... Sky Sports News have reported that Fulham defender Philippe Senderos is poised to move to Valencia before the 11pm deadline.
Right, that's me done for the evening! I shall now hand you over to my colleague Matt Law, who will take you through the final stretch of deadline day. Enjoy!
Hello all! Thanks for sticking with us as the final hour unfolds. Of course, there could be deals completed beyond the deadline, which is quite often the case, therefore we shall be on the case until 1am. There has been a deal completed in the last moment or two and it involves Fulham and a certain Swiss defender.
DONE DEAL! Senderos has indeed joined Valencia on a permanent transfer. A loan move had been discussed, but the centre-back has moved to the Mestalla on a long-term deal. Is that the strangest move of the window?! Valencia have certainly had a busy window, but it remains to be seen how their fans to react to that one!
Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley has been pictured at the Crystal Palace training ground in the last couple of minutes as the Premier League outfit look to tie up a move for the Welshman. It is expected to be a busy final hour at Selhurst Park.
Some interesting news coming out of Stoke and it involved a Burkina Faso winger by the name of Jonathan Pitroipa. His club Rennes have said on their official twitter account: "It also appears we will shortly be saying goodbye to Pitroipa as a transfer to Stoke City seems imminent!" At the moment, that deal has not been confirmed by the Potters.
DONE DEAL! Inter Milan have completed the signing of coveted midfielder Hernanes from Lazio. The Brazilian can be seen signing his new contract here...
DONE DEAL! Staying away from England for the moment - Atletico Madrid have completed the loan signing of former midfielder Diego from German side Wolfsburg. Diego Simeone has indeed been able to boost his squad as the capital outfit fight for glory on three fronts in the second half of the season.
According to BBC Sport, Konoplyanka has completed his medical ahead of a proposed move to Liverpool, but a move has not yet been confirmed. That deal is expected to go right to the wire. Will Liverpool be able to boost their squad? Around 45 minutes until the window closes this evening.
DONE DEAL! Swansea have signed Marvin Emnes on loan from Middlesbrough. Another somewhat strange signing for the Welsh outfit? Emnes returns to the club where he spent a loan spell in 2010.
"The club would like to thank Philippe for his service and wish him well for the future", is the official line from Fulham on Senderos, who has joined Valencia on a long-term deal. For me, that is the most bizarre transfer of the window thus far. Still 40 minutes for that to change!
DONE DEAL! Danny Graham has moved to Middlesbrough on loan from Sunderland. The 26-year-old had been with Hull City this season, but scored just one league goal. He will now spend the remainder of the season at the Riverside.
RUMOUR! Oh Harry Redknapp! The QPR boss said earlier that his business was done. However, according to Sky Sports News, the Championship outfit are in for West Ham United forward Modibo Maiga. Will that be completed in the next 30 minutes or so?
RUMOUR! According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal have failed in a loan move for Newcastle United forward Papiss Cisse, with the Magpies not prepared to allow the forward a loan deal. It is no secret that Arsenal are short of a striker or two. Will Arsene Wenger do some business in the final minutes?
What about Manchester United? Is anything happening? In a word - no. Juan Mata has arrived from Chelsea and that is expected to be their only business. Although some reports on Twitter have hinted at a possible loan move for Fabio Coentrao. Not again surely!
DONE DEAL! Johnny Heitinga has joined Fulham from Everton. That is good business from the London club, who have had a very successful window that is for certain. Little under 30 minutes remaining until the window slams shut!
Everton confirm Heitinga deal...
DONE DEAL! West Bromwich Albion have signed Thievy Bifouma on loan from Espanyol until the end of the season. The Frenchman is a pacey, tricky attacker and will add a different dimension to the Baggies. Good business.
Fulham fans - how does Heitinga look in white? A former World Cup finalist now on the books...
"I think it’s a good move for myself and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates. I’ve spoken already with Rene Meulensteen and I think it’s the right club for me. This is a club with a great history and I always enjoyed playing at Craven Cottage, I really like it as a stadium. It’s not one of the biggest but it’s got something special," is the official line from Heitinga on his move to Fulham.
Well, it appears that Ross McCormack is staying put at Leeds United. A number of clubs have reportedly been monitoring proceedings, but the forward had this to say on Twitter -
DONE DEAL! Hull City have confirmed that centre-back Jack Hobbs has joined Nottingham Forest on a four-and-a-half-year deal. The moves continue to happen with little under 15 minutes remaining. Still no fresh news on Liverpool's pursuit of a certain Ukraine international.
INCE LATEST! According to Sky Sports News, Tom Ince has agreed to join Crystal Palace. That has not been confirmed by either Palace or his current club Blackpool, but talks are ongoing. What a saga that has been.
RUMOUR! QPR boss Harry Redknapp reportedly failed in an attempt to sign Jermain Defoe on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The England international will join Toronto FC in February, but according to Sky Sports News, QPR attempted to sign the forward on a short-term loan deal.
MAIGA LATEST! Maiga has just been seen leaving Loftus Road looking quite pleased with himself. Has the West Ham United forward moved to QPR? News is expected in the next few minutes.
DONE DEAL! Will Keane has joined QPR on loan from Manchester United. The forward has just told Sky Sports News that he could make his debut against Burnley tomorrow afternoon. Busy at Loftus Road!
DONE DEAL! Valencia have allowed Ever Banega to move to Newell's Old Boys. It is unclear whether that is a loan or a permanent deal. Either way, that is great business for Newell's Old Boys. It just hasn't happened for the Argentine in Spain, but he is supremely gifted.
KONOPLYANKA LATEST! According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool are hoping to tie up a move before the end of the evening. Talks continue in Ukraine. Just a reminder that deals will be announced following the 11pm deadline.
11PM DEADLINE: So there we have it. The window is officially closed, but that does not mean that further business will not be completed. Be sure to remain with us as the transfer news continue to filter through.
WINDOW CLOSED! No Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to the Premier League then? Shame!
Slow down Gary, there is much more to come in this transfer window...
In truth, not a deadline day that has been full of big moves, but there are a few that stand out. Arsenal have brought in Kallstrom on loan, Chelsea have signed Zouma, while Berbatov has moved to Monaco on loan from Fulham. Can we add Liverpool to that list?
Liverpool fans - still no official word on the move for Konoplyanka. What a saga it has been! Just a reminder that just because the deadline has passed, it does not mean that the deal is dead in the water. Be sure to remain with us as the evening continues to unfold.
DONE DEAL! Watford have signed Park Chu-Young on loan from Arsenal, subject to Premier League clearance.
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool's move for Konoplyanka could now be off. This fascinating story takes another twist. Officials from the Premier League club are still in the Ukraine, but there is no official word from either club.
More on Will Keane's loan move from Manchester United to QPR. R's boss Harry Redknapp has had this to say: "Will is a young player with fantastic potential. He’s got a good eye for goal, leads the line well and will provide us with good competition in the final third. We’re looking forward to welcoming him into the squad."
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has said that the club have completed moves for Tom Ince and Joe Ledley, but are waiting on official confirmation from Blackpool and Celtic respectively. It has been a busy window for Palace that is for certain!
Without sounding like a broken record - just because the window has closed, it does not mean that more deals will not filter through. Of course, the main transfer speculation continues with Liverpool and Konoplyanka, with reports in Ukraine suggesting that deal is now off.
DONE DEAL! QPR have announced the signing of Maiga from West Ham United. The forward will wear the number 40 for his new club...
"His confidence is perhaps a bit low at the moment but I think he could come in here and do very well. This last week has shown that it’s so important to have a good squad of players, and that’s what we’ve got here," is the official line from QPR boss Harry Redknapp on Maiga. Very busy window at Loftus Road! How many strikers do they want!
DEAL OFF! According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool have failed in their bid to sign Konoplyanka from Dnipro. That is a big blow for the Premier League club.
Liverpool were beaten to the signing of Mohamed Salah by Chelsea earlier in the month and it now appears that they have lost out in their bid to sign Konoplyanka. As it stands, there has been no official word from either club. There is also no clear reason why the deal fell through.
Not too much from Manchester on deadline day with neither United nor City completing any business. Arsenal have brought in Kallstrom on loan, but no new striker has arrived. Fulham and Palace have both been extremely busy as the London duo attempt to fight off relegation.
Former Tottenham boss David Pleat has some words of comfort for Liverpool fans. He has told BBC Sport: "I saw Liverpool beat Everton the other day - they played superbly well. I don't think it's a tragedy that they did not sign this eastern European winger today. No-one knew him that well, and any foreign player is a bit of a gamble. They would have paid good money for him as well. I don't think it's a tragedy for Liverpool - they've got a good, settled squad at the moment. If I was Liverpool gunning for the top four I wouldn't worry."
DONE DEAL! Tom Ince has joined Crystal Palace on loan from Blackpool for the remainder of the season...
DONE DEAL! More good news for Palace, who have just confirmed the signing of Ledley from Celtic...
According to reports on Twitter, Liverpool's move for Konoplyanka broke down after his club refused to sanction the move. Still no official word from Liverpool, but expect more on that story. The deal is indeed off.
"Liverpool had a deal agreed with Yevhen Konoplyanka - the player wanted to come to Liverpool. In the end it didn't happen because the owner of the Ukrainian club refused to sign the relevant paperwork," is the official line from BBC Sport.
DONE DEAL! Middlesbrough have signed Lee Tomlin from Peterborough on loan. It is understood that there is the option of a permanent move at the end of the season. The transfers continue to filter through as we approach 12am.
FREE TRANSFER! Razvan Rat has been granted a free transfer by West Ham. The Romanian left-back joined from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer, but has now departed the Premier League club. Strange one?! He has been heavily involved this season.
More on Ince's move to Palace. Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has recently told BBC Sport: "Tom Ince is at Palace and I feel he's a real talent. I'm surprised a lot of the bigger clubs haven't gone for him - I expect him to go from strength-to-strength now. He'll be a breath of fresh air for them now, as Palace look like they're getting themselves out of trouble."
More now on Thievy Bifouma's loan move to West Brom from Espanyol. Baggies boss Pepe Mel has told reporters: "Thievy is a good striker. He is quick, can score goals and is able to play across the front three positions." One thing is for certain - the Frenchman has pace to burn.
DONE DEAL! Andreas Cornelius has returned to Copenhagen on loan after failing to impress at Cardiff City after joining in the summer. The deals continue to filter through despite the window officially closing at 11pm!
Spanish outfit Valencia have officially confirmed the signings of Araujo and Senderos, while announcing the departure of Banega on loan...
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has also commented on the loan signing of Kallstrom. He told BBC Sport: "Kim Kallstrom will come into the Arsenal midfield. It's a temporary signing, but the front of the Gunners team is still a problem. It's a gamble, though we trust in Arsene Wenger. There is no big worry, but compare what Man City have and the forward line is still a problem for Arsenal."
Sky Sports News reporter Vinny O’Connor has claimed that Liverpool's move for Konoplyanka ended after Dnipro refused to sign the relevant paperwork...
Here's a word from Tom Ince, who has completed a loan move from Blackpool to Crystal Palace. He told
BBC Sport: It's never nice to leave a club like Blackpool, who have done ever so well for me. I had three fantastic years there, but when an opportunity like this comes around... as soon as I met Tony Pulis and Steve Parish at Palace it felt like the right thing for me. I'm very happy.
"I spoke to Tony and it's amazing how well Tony has done there since he came in, and he said to me I was someone he needs, someone who can run at people and create some magic in the final third. Steve has worked hard behind the scenes to get me to Palace and I'm grateful for that.
"I had a gut feeling - Palace was for me and I'm going to be happy to play in a Palace shirt."
Now Cardiff have confirmed that they have allowed Cornelius to return to Copenhagen. However, the Welsh outfit have revealed that it is a permanent move rather than a loan...
FAILED MOVE! According to reports on Twitter, Stoke have failed to complete a move for Rennes attacker Jonathan Pitroipa. Bad news for Potters fans!
FAILED MOVE! Valencia had been strongly linked with a loan move for Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi, who is also believed to be a target for Manchester United. However, it is understood that move has collapsed at the final minute.
It appears that Thievy Bifouma will wear the number 50 shirt for West Brom after joining on loan from Espanyol, but the Frenchman is not eligible for the clash with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon...
More on the Thievy deal - West Brom Sporting & Technical Director Richard Garlick told the club's official website: "We’re delighted to welcome Thievy to the club. We set out to strengthen our forward options and Thievy is a little different to the other strikers we have.
“He is a player we have been monitoring for some time and has arrived with a real hunger to prove himself in the Barclays Premier League.”
Fulham have officially announced the signings of Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole from Manchester United on their Twitter page...
Manchester United, meanwhile, have confirmed that the deals for Tunnicliffe and Cole are permanent rather than loan signings...
Manchester United fans - what do you think about letting Tunnicliffe and Cole both leave on permanent deals? In truth, the former is not that surprising, but Cole had been tipped to make the breakthrough at Old Trafford. More business for Fulham, who have already signed the likes of Mitroglou, Holtby and Heitinga.
DONE DEAL! Moving away from England for a moment. Spanish side Celta Vigo, who beat Granada 2-1 in La Liga this evening, have completed the loan signing of Welliton from Spartak Moscow.
Moving back to Palace for a moment. New signing Joe Ledley, who completed a move from Celtic, has had this to say: "I had a fantastic time at Celtic and now my challenge is to play in the Premier League." It has certainly been a busy deadline day for Palace boss Tony Pulis.
FAILED MOVE! Reports had claimed that Atletico Madrid were interested in taking Jack Rodwell on loan from Manchester City. However, the England international has remained in the Premier League. Atletico, however, did re-sign Diego from Wolfsburg on loan.
What Premier League clubs will be most pleased with their business on deadline day? Fulham and Crystal Palace will surely be right up there. Both have added quality and indeed quantity ahead of the second half of the season. Not too much at the top end of the table, but that was expected.
Not too much has filtered through in the last few moments with business nearing completion. Almost two hours after the window officially closed, it is just about time for me to depart.
Thanks for joining Sports Mole for all the action on this deadline day. Be sure to join us throughout the weekend for all the best sporting action. From me, Matthew Law, it is good evening.
