Sunderland seal capture of Liam Bridcutt from Brighton & Hove Albion

Sunderland confirm the signing of Liam Bridcutt from Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Sunderland have confirmed the signing of midfielder Liam Bridcutt from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Black Cats head coach Gus Poyet has secured his fifth signing of the January transfer window after the 24-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

While the Premier League outfit have not disclosed the fee, Sky Sports News have reported that the fee is in the region of £2.5m.

Bridcutt, who joined Brighton in 2010, made 151 appearances and scored two goals during his time there.
