Barcelona have announced plans to build a new Camp Nou on the site of the current stadium.
The board of the Catalan giants decided against the option of building a new stadium in the area proposed to them near the Avenida Diagonal.

"This was a difficult decision, both options were very attractive but we decided to go ahead and stay at Les Corts," said president Sandro Rosell.
"The Camp Nou is part of our collective memory. It is the largest stadium in Europe and is an icon of the city of Barcelona."
The decision on whether to go ahead with the plans will be decided by a referendum on the weekend April 5-6.
If it is approved, then building work would take place between May 2017 and February 2021.
