Serge Akakpo has said that he hopes a good performance at the Africa Cup of Nations will earn him a deal with a Premier League club.
The Togo captain currently plays his club football with MSK Zilina in Slovakia, having previously played for French side Auxerre.
The 25-year-old told The Sunday Times: "I have lots of friends there like Younes Kaboul and Abou Diaby, who I played with for Auxerre, and Hatem Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri, who were also my teammates.
"England today has the best championship in the world. Playing there is my dream."
Akakpo was amongst the players injured in 2010 at the Africa Cup of Nations when the Togo team bus came under fire.
Togo begin their campaign on Tuesday when they face the Ivory Coast.
