Switzerland boss Murat Yakin is facing the best sort of selection dilemma up front for Wednesday's Euro 2024 Group A clash with Scotland in Cologne.

The Rossocrociati opened their continental campaign with a well-earned 3-1 success over Hungary on Saturday, where Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer and Breel Embolo were on target.

The latter came off the bench to wrap up the two-goal victory with a calm lob in added time, in what was his first game for the national team since the 2022 World Cup due to injury.

Embolo played just five times for Monaco last season due to an ACL injury and muscular problem, but despite his crucial contribution over the weekend, Yakin may still have reservations about throwing him in from the first whistle.

As a result, Ludogorets marksman Duah should reprise his role after netting his first senior Switzerland goal on his second cap, with support from Dan Ndoye and Ruben Vargas out wide.

With Steven Zuber still struggling to overcome an unspecified injury, Aebischer's spot on the left is also safe, while Silvan Widmer starts on the right but is one booking away from a suspension.

Denis Zakaria is on the verge of recovering from a muscular problem and could be on the bench, but Remo Freuler and all-time leading appearance maker Granit Xhaka are primed to pair up once more.

Despite starring for Borussia Dortmund en route to the Champions League final, Gregor Kobel remains behind Yann Sommer in the goalkeeping pecking order, as the latter prepares to bark orders to Ricardo Rodriguez, Manuel Akanji and Fabian Schar again.
