Swansea City are reportedly closing in on Federico Fernandez as a replacement for the expected departure of Chico Flores.
The Swansea defender is hoping to rejoin former boss Michael Laudrup in Qatar for Lekhiwya as Garry Monk eyes his replacement.
Flores is expected to leave the Liberty stadium for around £4m, while World Cup runner-up Fernandez could finally switch to Wales following speculation of the move last summer, according to Wales Online.
The 25-year-old has made 25 appearances for Argentina and has scored twice.
Swansea defender Flores has played 57 games for Swansea since arriving in 2012 from Genoa.
