Michael Laudrup will be looking for a permanent deal for Jonathan de Guzman in the January transfer window.

Michael Laudrup has said that he is preparing to spend during the January transfer window.

The Swansea boss will have money available to bring new names to the Liberty Stadium and is also likely to secure a permanent deal for Jonathan de Guzman, who is already at Swansea on loan from Villareal.

Laudrup told Sky Sports News: "We haven't spoken to Villarreal about a long-term agreement but I would like Jonathan to stay. He is doing very well here.

"Some players need time to adapt to the Premier League, so I was surprised he started so well.

"We have to be prepared for January now. When the possibility is there, then you have to go for it."

Swansea currently sit 11th in the Premier League.
