Garry Monk impressed by Swansea City performance

Swansea City manager Garry Monk reveals his delight with the squad following the goalless draw against Napoli.

Garry Monk has praised his Swansea City side for their display in the goalless draw with Napoli on Thursday night.

Despite dominating for long periods in the first leg of the Europa League last-32 tie, Swansea were unable to make a breakthrough at the Liberty Stadium.

However, Monk was eager to take the positives from the performance against one of Serie A's top teams.

"What a performance that was from us," the Swansea manager told reporters.

"Napoli are one of the top teams in Europe, so to put a performance like that on - I said to the players afterwards the word was 'wow'.

"It is a great confidence boost for the players. I guess the only disappointment was that we didn't score a goal."

The second leg will take place in Naples next Thursday.
