Jan Vertonghen could reportedly have played his last game for Tottenham Hotspur as he is yet to pen a temporary deal, according to a report.

Jan Vertonghen is reportedly unlikely to feature for Tottenham Hotspur again as the central defender enters the final weeks of his contract with Jose Mourinho's side.

The Belgium international's existing deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, but it had been suggested that he could pen a short-term contract to cover the rest of the club's 2019-20 campaign, which is due to resume later this month.

The 33-year-old has again been a regular for Spurs during the current season, making 26 appearances in all competitions, including 16 in the Premier League.

However, according to The Times, Vertonghen might not remain with Mourinho's side beyond the end of June, meaning that he could have played his last game for the club.

The Belgian has been with Tottenham since 2012, making 311 appearances in all competitions.

Inter Milan have been consistently credited with an interest in the experienced defender, although a number of other clubs are also believed to be closely monitoring developments.
