Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to swoop for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks if he ends up leaving the English capital this summer.
On the whole, Winks has struggled to win over Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese manager took charge, and a recent report claimed that the Lilywhites are willing to entertain offers for the England international in the upcoming transfer window.
The 25-year-old has only turned out in 10 Premier League games this season, starting just seven of them, which has fuelled speculation that he could end up seeking pastures new ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
According to Sky Sports News, Atletico unsuccessfully contacted Tottenham over a possible move for Winks last summer, and the La Liga leaders will reignite their interest in the midfielder if his time at Spurs comes to an end.
The report adds that Daniel Levy values Winks as an important member of the squad due to his home-grown status, but Mourinho's tactical approach does not work well with the midfielder's style of play, so the situation regarding his game time at Spurs is unlikely to change any time soon.
Valencia have also been credited with an interest in Winks, whose existing deal with Mourinho's side runs out in 2024.
