Emmanuel Adebayor's wages put off Parma?

Emmanuel Adebayor's supposed loan switch to Parma is likely to fall through because of the Tottenham Hotspur striker's wages.

Parma are reportedly eager to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Emmanuel Adebayor on loan for the remainder of the season, but the Italian club are unable to match striker's wages.

Roberto Donadoni's men are currently entrenched in the Serie A relegation zone and as a result, the head coach is eager to boost his goalscoring options.

Togo frontman Adebayor had been identified as a major target, but despite initial positive talks, the move is likely to fall through because Parma cannot afford to pay the 30-year-old £100,000 a week, according to the London Evening Standard.

If the deal were to be concluded, Parma would need a financial contribution from Spurs, but chairman Daniel Levy is said to have no intention of paying a player that is representing another club.

The report added that teams in Qatar and the MLS have been offered the chance to sign the former Arsenal and Manchester City centre-forward.
