Michel Platini has no issues with Gareth Bale fee

UEFA president Michel Platini says that he has no issues with the size of the fee Real Madrid are prepared to pay for Gareth Bale.

UEFA president Michel Platini has said that he has no qualms over the amount of money Real Madrid are prepared to pay for Gareth Bale.

The Spanish giants are said to be close to sealing a world record-breaking £86m deal for the Spurs star.

Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino recently declared his displeasure at the size of the fee claiming that it showed a "lack of respect" to the world outside of football.

However, Platini says he has no issues with the fee, saying that clubs have the right to spend their money as they see fit.

"Nobody would have batted an eyelid if Real Madrid had bought three players for €30m (£26m) each," he told L'Equipe.

"I have no objections if the buying club can afford to pay it. Whether Bale is worth €100m (£86m) is a completely different discussion, though."

Bale was absent from training on Tuesday without the permission of Spurs.
