Sebastien Bassong has admitted that he is looking forward to the challenge at Wolverhampton Wanderers after his loan move from Tottenham Hotspur.
The defender swapped the top end of the Premier League table for the relegation zone when he signed a deal at Molineux until the end of the season.
"I think it is a very good move for me," said the 25-year-old. "There are some very good players at Tottenham and they are having a fantastic season, but I just want to try and play football and I am hoping this will be a good place for me to do that.
"Of course, it's a different challenge to Spurs, the different end of the table, but I know that there is a challenge ahead and I wanted to be a part of it.
"I am sure there is enough quality in the dressing room to stay up. You only stay in the Premier League if you deserve to and, if we do everything properly, then I think we will do it."
Bassong is expected to feature for Wolves in Saturday's trip to Queens Park Rangers.
