Southampton have reportedly made a bid of £11.5m for Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk following the Scottish champions exit from the Champions League.
The Dutchman has been linked with a move to St Mary's throughout the summer, but is understood to have been waiting to see if the Hoops could reach the group stage of Europe's top club competition.
The Mirror reports that the 24-year-old will become Ronald Koeman's eighth capture of the transfer window in an £11.5m deal following the loss to Malmo.
The report adds that Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett's arrival on a loan deal at Celtic Park was pushed through to cover the imminent departure.
Van Dijk, who joined Celtic from FC Groningen in 2013, scored 10 goals in 58 appearances for Ronny Deila's side last season.
