Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he is pleased with his first four months in the job.

The Saints edged closer to Premier League survival on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

"Yes, we are happy," Pochettino told Sky Sports News. "The players have put in an amazing performance in the four months that I have been here.

"That's what I can do. I can't speak about previous to when I arrived."

Sunday's result has moved Southampton five points clear of the relegation zone with two games left to play.
