Southampton have gone into the break against Real Sociedad with a 3-2 advantage after an enthralling first half at St Mary's Stadium.
The Saints burst out of the blocks against the La Liga side, taking the lead on seven minutes when Adam Lallana latched onto a Rickie Lambert pass to net past the goalkeeper.
The Premier League outfit were showing plenty of urgency in attack and twice went close through Victor Wanyama and Jos Hooiveld.
However, they conceded an equaliser just before the half-hour mark when Gorka Elustondo took advantage of some poor defending to fire past Kelvin Davis.
But parity did not last long, as Morgan Schneiderlin linked up with Wanyama before converting the ball home.
Sociedad wasted little time in equalising for a second time, as former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela raced onto a long ball before driving it past Davis.
But the goals had not finished, as Hooiveld latched onto a Lallana delivery to head his side into the lead at the break.
