Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang says that he wants to do better than last season's 16-goal haul.

Saint-Etienne striker Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang has said that it will be "hard" to outdo Paris Saint-Germain goal-machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 23-year-old has already hit the net five times in eight games this season, but admitted that he would be happy just to match the Swede in the scoring charts.

"I want to prove I'm a real striker. I want to be better than last year," Ligue1.com quotes the Gabon international as saying.

"[Ibrahimovic] is a top-class, an amazing striker. Despite being very tall, he is really great on the ball. To compete with him will be hard - he has started very well this season.

"If I score more than him, that is good for me. If I can do as much as him, that's good, too. We'll see at the end."

Aubemeyang scored 16 times last season - his first for Les Verts since moving from AC Milan.
