Rotherham United squeeze past Millwall

Championship new boys Rotherham United edge out Millwall 1-0 at the New Den thanks to Ben Pringle's second-half goal.

Rotherham United took the points at the New Den as they beat Millwall 1-0 in the Championship this afternoon.

Ben Pringle's goal earned the Millers victory shortly after the restart when he converted from close range.

The home side had an early shout for a penalty waved away when Marc Beevers went down under a challenge inside the box.

Lee Martin and Scott Malone combined on a number of occasions and it was their link-up play that led to Josh Wright firing wide on 19 minutes.

Pringle grabbed the winner four minutes after the restart when he tapped home, before Ricardo Fuller saw a header deflected narrowly wide on 65 minutes.

Ian Holloway made a couple of late changes, but he was unable to inspire a change as the Millers held on for the win.
