Former Real Madrid forward Ronaldo has expressed his doubt that Los Blancos will be able to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar in this summer's transfer window.
PSG broke the world transfer record to acquire Neymar from Barcelona last summer, and the Brazilian scored 28 times in 30 appearances for the French giants before sustaining a broken metatarsal in February.
Madrid have been linked with an ambitious move to bring the 26-year-old back to Spain, but Ronaldo does not believe that a deal is possible for the moment.
"Neymar? He joined PSG in a massive transfer and they do not need money," Ronaldo told Cadena Ser. "They will not be forced into any sale regardless of any offer or interest from any club, whether that is Real Madrid or somewhere else.
"Perhaps in a few years a deal would be possible but at the moment I do not believe we are in that position, but he is still young with a big future. He enjoys Paris and he made the decision to move there recently because he wanted to change his scenery."
Neymar is on course to represent Brazil at the 2018 World Cup despite initial suggestions that the attacker could miss this summer's tournament.
