Real Madrid recorded their sixth straight La Liga win with a 3-0 success over Almeria on Wednesday.

James Rodriguez registered late in the first period, before an own goal from Mauro dos Santos, who was under pressure from Cristiano Ronaldo, doubled the home side's lead.

Real Madrid, whose third came from Alvaro Arbeloa in the 84th minute, are once again two points behind the leaders Barcelona, while Almeria remain just outside the bottom three.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each player performed in Madrid.

REAL MADRID

Goal

Keylor Navas: Did not have a single shot to save, but the Costa Rican, who replaced Iker Casillas between the sticks, was fairly confident from high balls. A decent evening overall. (6/10)

Defence

Alvaro Arbeloa: Had a super game at right-back. Was excellent defensively and also more than prepared to break forward, which brought Real Madrid's third goal of the evening. (8/10)

Raphael Varane: Has enjoyed plenty of football this season and the Frenchman is growing with each passing game. Did not put a foot wrong during his 86 minutes on the field. (7/10)

Pepe: Was not overly tested for long spells, but had some work to do in the first period and remained strong in the challenge. Seems to be a lot calmer these days. (7/10)

Fabio Coentrao: Has not had too much football this season, but the Portuguese started ahead of Marcelo in Madrid. Got forward on plenty of occasions, but his delivery was inconsistent. (6/10)

Midfield

Asier Illarramendi: Has now started the last two games, but the Spaniard's confidence is a little fragile. Did quite well in the middle of the park, but not much more than that. (6/10)

James Rodriguez: Produced a moment of brilliance late in the first half when he volleyed one into the top corner. Always prepared to take control of the ball before being subbed in the second period. (7/10)

Toni Kroos: Nice and tidy from the German as he kept things moving in the middle of the park. Also provided the low cross that led to Dos Santos turning into his own net. (7/10)

Attack

Jese Rodriguez: Really struggled to make his mark in Madrid. Has been crying out for regular football in recent months, but the Spaniard simply did not take his chance in this one. (5/10)

Javier Hernandez: Could not continue his fine run of form in front of goal. Had some good chances and was always a threat, however, and he set up Arbeloa for Real Madrid's third. (6/10)

Cristiano Ronaldo: Just did not happen for the Portuguese, who missed a number of decent opportunities. Was always dangerous, but lacked that cutting edge for once. (6/10)

Substitutes

Isco: Only given the final 25 minutes, but the Spaniard was a real class act. Picked out a number of clever passes and played a big role in Real Madrid's third of the evening. (7/10)

Lucas Silva: Will have been disappointed not to have started, but the Brazilian was nice and positive during his 25 minutes on the field. Kept possession when needed. (6/10)

Nacho: Slotted in at centre-back for the final five minutes in Madrid. (6/10)

ALMERIA

Goal

Ruben: Had an extremely straightforward first period and could do nothing with James's opener. Did not have an awful lot to do for long spells, but ultimately conceded three times. (6/10)

Defence

Ximo Navarro: Did his best to get forward when possible and the full-back delivered a couple of dangerous crosses in the second period. Had a solid enough game. (6/10)

Angel Trujillo: Part of a defence that conceded three times, but it is difficult to be too critical of individuals. Did tire in the second period, but impressed in the first. (6/10)

Mauro dos Santos: Was unfortunate to find the back of his own net under pressure from Ronaldo and overall, the centre-back had a decent game, especially in the first period. (6/10)

Sebastian Dubarbier: Had a super chance in the first period when Thomas presented the Argentine with a low pass just outside the box, but the left-back completely fluffed his lines. (6/10)

Midfield

Thomas Partey: One of the best players on the field in the first period - winning possession and setting up a number of counters. Departed just past the hour mark with more pressing matters ahead. (7/10)

Verza: Contributed to what was an impressive first-half performance from Almeria, but the Spaniard was a little lost in the second and eventually departed in the 67th minute. (6/10)

Corona: Delivered a couple of dangerous free kicks in the second half and was nice and tidy in the first. Certainly contributed to a strong first 45 minutes for the visitors. (6/10)

Attack

Mane: Swapped positions with Dubarbier on a number of occasions as the pair occupied the Almeria left. Formed a good partnership with the Argentine in a wide area. (6/10)

Tomer Hemed: Worked hard in the final third, but it never quite happened for the striker. Was playing in a system that required the centre-forward to have good pace - not his game. (5/10)

Edgar Mendez: Had a couple of bright moments in the first period when he found space in the final third, but the Spaniard faded in the second before being replaced just before the hour. (6/10)

Substitutes

Jonathan Zongo: Introduced just before the hour mark as Almeria went for more pace through the middle and the striker made a positive impression in the Spanish capital. (6/10)

Javier Espinosa: Was a surprise that the on-loan Villarreal midfielder did not start and he was neat and tidy in possession during his 30 minutes on the field. (6/10)

Ramon Azeez: Replaced Verza in the 67th minute and provided good energy. (6/10)
