Zinedine Zidane admits that he has been left concerned with the attitude of his Real Madrid players after the club's 1-0 defeat to Cadiz.

Zinedine Zidane has acknowledged that Real Madrid 'played a bad game' after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Cadiz.

The La Liga champions succumbed to a first-half Anthony Lozano goal, leaving Los Blancos with 10 points from their opening five fixtures.

Although Real currently remain at the top of the standings, Zidane has questioned the attitude of his first-team squad ahead of an important period of the season.

Speaking to reporters, the Frenchman said: "They played with more pace than us and more enthusiasm. We can't make any excuses, we played a bad game and we have to congratulate Cadiz. We're not happy at all.

"It was very difficult for us from the start and I wouldn't have been surprised if they had scored two or three goals in the first half.

"The way we started the game was what concerned me the most. We then struggled to create chances but that's a consequence of the bad start we had made."

While Real are next in action against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, Zidane will already have one eye on next weekend's El Clasico with Barcelona.
