La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed that it is "impossible" that either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi will leave Spain's top flight in the near future.
The two best players in world football have been linked with exits from Real Madrid and Barcelona over the last couple of months, with Ronaldo, 30, said to be strongly considering his future.
Twenty-eight-year-old Messi has also been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Tebas has branded such talk pure speculation.
"Ronaldo and Messi have been supposed to leave at least twice in recent years. Ronaldo and Messi leaving La Liga is as likely as Catalan independence – impossible," Tebas told AS.
Ahead of El Clasico at the weekend, Tebas also admitted that he is a supporter of Real Madrid.
