Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon has said that he "would not be surprised" to see Cristiano Ronaldo join the club from Real Madrid this summer.
The Portugal international is understood to be just days away from completing an £88m switch between the European giants, bringing an end to his trophy-laden nine-year spell at the Bernabeu.
Juve are looking to fill the void left by iconic figure Buffon since the end of last season, with the Italian goalkeeper leaving to start a new adventure with Paris Saint-Germain, and the outgoing stopper believes that Ronaldo would be a good fit.
"I wouldn't be surprised to see Ronaldo at Juventus," he told Sky Sport Italia. "It would make me happy because it's what the Juventus world needs. They have to find new idols and exalt them."
Asked if he is bothered that Ronaldo is reportedly joining in the same summer that he departed the Allianz Stadium, Buffon responded: "What bothered me were the two goals he scored in the final and the ones he scored last year! It would be a fantastic advertisement for Italian football."
Buffon completed his move to PSG last week on a short-team deal that will run through until next summer.
