Pep Guardiola: "We did everything we could"

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola says that his side did everything they could in their Champions League match against Real Madrid.

Pep Guardiola has said that Bayern Munich did "everything" to try to beat Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final this evening.

The Bundesliga champions dominated possession throughout the game, but Karim Benzema scored the only goal to give Real a 1-0 victory.

The manager told reporters: "We controlled the game, but Real were waiting to counter-attack and they have the players to take advantage of this.

"We did everything we could today. We can't win every game. We played against one of the best and most expensive teams in the world."

The second leg takes place at the Allianz Arena next week.
