Zinedine Zidane picks up second league win as Real Madrid Castilla boss

Real Madrid Castilla defeat nine-man Barakaldo to climb off the foot of the Segunda B Grupo 2 table.

Zinedine Zidane has picked up his second win as manager of Real Madrid Castilla courtesy of a shock 1-0 victory over Segunda B Grupo 2 leaders Barakaldo.

Pato Guillen was forced into making a key save in the first half, although neither side could find the breakthrough in a goalless opening 45 minutes at Lasesarre.

Alvaro Medran did eventually open the scoring 10 minutes after the restart for lowly Castilla, successfully converting from the spot to put his side ahead.

Barakaldo struggled to get back into the game, and both Aitor Aldalur and Gerardo Carrera were shown red cards for the hosts to make matters even worse.

Madrid were able to hold off their opponents to see out the game which lifts them off the foot of the table.
