Reading boss Steve Clarke has backed goalkeeper Jonathan Bond to recover after his mistake cost the Royals three points against Sheffield Wednesday.
Bond dropped a cross in the final stages at Hillsborough last night which allowed Modou Sougou to earn Wednesday a 1-1 draw in the Championship.
Despite the shot-stopper being at fault for the home side's equaliser, Clarke is confident that he will make amends later in the season.
"We bossed the game from start to finish and got heavily punished for a mistake at the end," the Scot is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"Jonathan is a young goalkeeper, but even senior goalkeepers make mistakes. This is the life of a goalkeeper. At some stage this season, Jonathan will make a save which will win us a game."
Reading continue their Championship campaign on Saturday when they welcome MK Dons to the Madejski Stadium.
