Sheffield Wednesday score leveller against Reading

Sheffield Wednesday score a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Reading in the Championship.

A last-minute equaliser from Modou Sougou has earned Sheffield Wednesday a 1-1 draw at home to Reading.

After a low-key start, Reading had the first meaningful effort on goal as Chris Gunter hit a hard shot marginally over the bar from long range.

Wednesday lost their captain Glen Loovens after half-an-hour as he hobbled off with an injury, and was replaced by Vincent Sasso.

Reading almost took advantage as Stephen Quinn found Danny Williams in the box, but his goalbound shot was blocked.

After the break, Reading almost took the lead as Orlando Sa's shot was parried by the keeper, but Hal Robson-Kanu put the rebound over the bar.

Minutes later they found the lead as Williams blasted the ball into the net from inside the box after Sa set him up at the end of a mazy run.

Sa then went close to a goal of his own, but he headed wide from close range following a corner.

Wednesday salvaged a point in the last minute as Sougou blasted the ball into the net after the keeper failed to catch a high cross into the box.
