Rangers have announced that they have no plans to take over League One outfit Bury in order to claim a spot in the English Football League.
The Scottish outfit, who have been formed into a newco company by Charles Green, were reportedly keen on buying out Bury, who subsequently rejected any notion of Rangers taking over the club.
The Gers released a statement, which said: "Rangers have not approached Bury and our focus is on securing our status in the Scottish League structure."
The former Scottish Premier League champions will discover if they will be able to stay in the top flight of Scottish football following a vote next month.
