Charlton Athletic boss Chris Powell says racism cases are embarrassing for English football.

Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell believes the recent racism cases are embarrassing for English football.

The recent cases involving Luis Suarez and John Terry have highlighted the problem of racism in football once more.

Powell - one of only two black managers in the football league – believes that clubs need to deal with the issue correctly and continue to educate across the country. The former England international has also stressed that the game is for everyone and should stay that way.

"It's a game for all and I really don't like it," said Powell.

"We've been complaining about other countries when it looks like we've got a few incidents here.

"Hopefully now these incidents will show everyone that we still need to keep it at the forefront and we keep educating everyone, not only in our country but around the world."

Powell was appointed manager of Charlton in January 2010.
