Queen of the South edge out Raith Rovers

Queen of the South extend their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-0 victory over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.

Goals either side of half time from John Baird and Gavin Reilly gave Queen of the South a home victory over Raith Rovers in this evening's Scottish Championship match at Palmerston Park.

Baird struck from outside the box in the 22nd minute to give Queens a half-time lead before Mark Stewart came close to an equaliser with a low shot that came back off the woodwork.

Reilly sealed the win 10 minutes from time by tucking home Derek Lyle's low cross as the home side extended their unbeaten run to six games.

Victory sees Queens reclaim third place in the table from Hibernian, while Raith remain fifth.
