Two goals from Emile Sinclair secured all three points for Peterborough United this afternoon.
Both of Sinclair's goals at London Road came before the break, while visiting Burnley's solitary reply came from Keith Treacy on the stroke of half-time.
Grant McCann went close to extending Posh's lead after the break, but neither side troubled the scoring any further.
Next up for Darren Ferguson's Peterborough is a trip to West Ham United on Saturday, while Burnley host newly-promoted Southampton at Turf Moor on the same day.
