Oldham Athletic sack manager David Dunn after just 20 games

Oldham Athletic sack manager David Dunn after just 20 games in charge of the League One club.

Oldham Athletic have announced that they have parted company with manager David Dunn just three months after he was appointed as permanent coach.

The former Blackburn Rovers player was given the position as Darren Kelly's successor in October last year after he guided the team to a four-game unbeaten run during an interim period.

As well as Dunn, assistant manager Dean Holden has also left the club, who sit in the bottom four of the league table after seven games without a win.

Chairman Simon Corney told the club's official website: "I would like to place on record my thanks and gratitude to David for his tireless efforts over the past four months under what have been extremely difficult circumstances and wish him all the best for the future. He retained his dignity at all times and his hard work and dedication has been commendable.

"Dean has been a loyal and dedicated servant to the club and he leaves with our gratitude and best wishes."

First-team coach Keith Brown has also left the club.
