Ed Sheeran has taken to social media to apologise to Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim after interrupting his interview with Sky Sports.
On Sunday evening, Ipswich Town - Sheeran's boyhood club - earned a 1-1 draw in their Premier League fixture with the Red Devils at Portman Road.
With United having held a second-minute lead through Marcus Rashford, Amorim was left frustrated with aspects of his team's performance in his first game in charge.
When the Portuguese was speaking to Sky Sports after the match in East Anglia, the interview was gatecrashed by Sheeran.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter, who owns a minority share of Ipswich, shook hands with pundit Jamie Redknapp before light-heartedly insisting that Amorim 'does not want to speak with him'.
Although Sheeran swiftly left the interview, he was criticised on social media, the interruption being described as "rude" and "arrogant" by some X users.

On Monday afternoon, Sheeran took to Instagram to give his take on the incident, saying that he was unaware that the interview with the broadcaster had already started.
He said: "Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday. Didn't actually realise he was being interviewed at the time. Was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie.
"Obvz feel a bit of a ******* but life goes on. Great game though, congrats on all involved."

While Ipswich move on to a trip to Nottingham Forest on November 30, United are now preparing for their home fixture with Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Amorim revealed in the aforementioned interview that he was disappointed with the decision-making of two of his United players.
